Jordan Davis is a freshman at Worcester Technical High School, and he’s also a young rapper. When he raps, he goes by the name of YBL Jordan. YBL means Young Broke Leaders. He started rapping about a year ago, and has a bright future ahead of him.
Through his rap, YBL Jordan is always trying to send a positive message. Jordan said he believes, “People can do anything no matter what the problem is.” Jordan said he comes up with his songs by, “thinking about struggles, and ways to overcome those problems.”
Jordan has been inspired to start rapping by many different artists. A few of these artists include Nipsey Hussle, Eminem, and Tupac. Jordan said he is “rapping for fun and taking it seriously for the time being.”
Jordan records his music by using iMovie and YouTube. His favorite way to rap is by going with the beat. He finds inspiration for his lyrics from relatable topics and positive messages. His process of creating music is to have a test run in the songs he created and he won’t publish the song until he feels like the song he created is good enough.
YBL Jordan has been putting his music on YouTube for now, and he says he is going to put his music on SoundCloud soon.
